Car Seat Safety

December 14, 2002

On Saturday, December 14th, 2002 four members from the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force participated in a Booster seat giveaway at Alton Elementary School in Alton.  Participating in the event was Jason Bilich (St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1), Joe Chapman (St. Tammany Fire Protection District #12), Brian Nicaud (Slidell Police Department) and others.  Parents from Alton elementary were given the seats and also instructed on child passenger safety.  The seats were made available through the 2002 Boost America program.

After the day was over, 12 booster seats were handed out and one child seat was checked.  Overall 13 children are now safer because of this event.
